You can uninstall it in safe mode
Ok, so my mothers computer came with that 3 month trial version of Norton
Antivirus for which the subscription service had expired.
In order to install a newer version of Norton, you are prompted to
uninstall
the older version first.
That is all ok except when I try to uninstall the old program in
Add/Remove
programs I get a message that other users are logged on to the computer
and
that they must be logged off first.
There are only 2 accounts set up on the computer Mom's and guest. I have
logged off the guest account, and still get the error. I have logged off
the
other account and it still tells me that other users are logged on. I have
rebooted the computer and still XP tells me someone else ids logged on.
Also she is running the home version of XP I think, and it appears to be
different from my Pro version because there is no option to delete
accounts
in the Users section of control panel.
Anyone have this sort of problem before. Does anyone know how to delete
user
accounts in XP Home?

no need to uninstall. if you've got a newer version, it will
uninstall the older version itself.
